The holiday weekend is usually filled with large gatherings, picnics, fireworks shows, or weekend trips. Obviously, in the COVID era, things are going to look different this year. While we know things may look a little different this year, we know you will still want to celebrate it-safely. Here are 5 ideas to help you celebrate at home.

Have a mini cookout and add cocktails and mocktails
Fire up the grill for a barbecue or have a shrimp boil. Create Independence Day Sangria for the adults and make Patriotic Punch for the kids.
Get Outdoors Create a Children’s Parade
Since most parades are canceled this year, your neighborhood could coordinate a social distancing parade. Decorate your bike, wagon, scooter, skates, dog, yourself or anything you can walk with on the parade path.

Patriotic Ice Cream Sandwiches
Roll store bought ice cream sandwiches in red, white, and blue sprinkles and freeze. Easy and festive!

Watch the fireworks/or movies under the stars
Set up an old bed sheet, a projector, some cushions and outdoor chairs for a cozy movie night and or firework show viewing in the backyard. Pop some popcorn, make some smores, hand out sparkler pack.

4th of July Bingo Scavenger Hunt
The bingo scavenger hunt will be fun for the whole family. Simply print out the scavenger hunt papers, grab a clipboard and marker, then start hunting. No fussy prep work required. That’s my favorite kind of holiday activity! You could hunt for just an hour, or an evening, or you could print off the bingo sheets and see how many each person can mark off during the entire July 4th holiday weekend.
