Today we are giving insight into many brides favorite flower, peonies! Peonies signify good fortune in marriage so of course these fluffy flowers are every bride’s dream! Creative Director Kristen Wolchik with Haute Floral breaks down some facts about these lush petally flowers:
When are they available?
Growing times are dependent on many variables, but typically these beauties are available mid April -July and December-February. They typical look the best in May & June.
What colors do peonies come in?
White, Pink (all shades from blush to magenta), coral, burgundy, and even yellow! The yellows are typically called tree peonies and open wide and flatter at full bloom.
How can peonies be styled?
This flower is very versatile and can be used in bouquets and arrangements for a luxurious look. If you are budget conscious, highlight them in areas that will be most photographed like the bridal bouquet, head table, or cake.
If peonies are not in season, what is a great alternative?
If you are looking for other alternative options, garden roses have a different bloom structure and are smaller than peonies BUT they have a variety of colors and are basically available all year round.
