Besides, of course, the very important role of father of the bride, the dad plays a key role in wedding day itself. In honor of Father’s Day this Sunday, we thought we’d share a couple Father of the bride traditions. We have been a part of some truly timeless and love-filled weddings, and love watching the father-of-the-bride’s during this special occasion.

Walking You Down the Aisle
This tradition goes back to marriage meaning the exchange of a daughter from her father’s family to her groom’s, which is why fathers traditionally walked their daughters down the aisle, otherwise known as giving them away. If you’re lucky enough to have a good relationship with your dad and still have him around, then let him steady your nerves as you step down the aisle – it’ll be a moment you never forget.
Father/Daughter Dance
The Father-Daughter dance is such an important moment in both a bride’s and her father’s lives. The only suggestion we have for our brides is to make it one they’ll remember! Choose a song that is special to you both or learn a cute dance to do together and just have fun with it! This is a pivotal moment that your dad has been looking forward to his entire life. Which song will you choose?
Wedding Speech
A big part of the role of a father of the bride, is to offer a short wedding speech and/or toast. It may be at the wedding, at the reception, at a wedding dinner or other similar event. Other than dancing with the bride at the reception, there is probably no more important event for the father of the bride. The speech is in many ways the highlight of a father’s involvement.
