Whether she’s the mother of the bride or mother of the groom, the day her child gets married is a major moment in a woman’s life. The mother has probably dreamt about her daughter or son wedding day since the moment they was born. And oftentimes, moms dive in head-first to help with the wedding planning process and be a source of support. We at Rea Danielle Designs can’t imagine going through the wedding process without them. In honor of Mother’s Day on May 10th, we created a list of special moments that a bride and groom may share with their mom!
Dress Shopping
One of the most important details in your wedding is your bridal gown! Dress shopping with your mom and future mother-n-law is definitely a joyous moment. We all value our Mom’s opinions, and it wouldn’t be the same if she wasn’t there to to help pick out the most important piece of clothing ever. It’s such an emotional day when a mom sees her little girl all grown up in the dress of her dreams, but be warned, happy tears might (will) be shed!
Getting Ready
Once the big day rolls around, have your stylist also do your Mom’s hair and makeup. Afterwards, she can help you get into your dress and make sure everything is perfect!

When the Mother of the bride walks her daughter down the aisle.
This might be a job that’s usually reserved for Dad, but this mama’s got it covered! Watching Jasmine walk down the aisle on her mom’s arm brought immediate tears to our eyes.

Give her a wedding day gift
One way to say thank you to your Mom is giving her a special gift to show gratitude for all her help. This could be a hand written letter or a piece of jewelry. Just a little something extra special to show her how much you appreciate everything she has done for you growing up and with the wedding! Big or small, this will be something she’ll treasure forever!

Something Borrowed
Consider adding something from your mom’s wedding day to yours. There are plenty of sweet ways to memorialize your mom’s wedding at your own—Incorporate a piece of your mom’s lace from her wedding gown or a broach into your bouquet to add a special touch on your big day!Not only would this be a sweet nod to your mom’s day, she’ll be thrilled to see part of her wedding live on through yours.
Thank Her
Don’t forget to thank your mom! She’s been by your side since the beginning, and your wedding day will be an emotional experience for everyone in your family. Take the time to express your thanks, either privately or in front of your guests with a speech. The sky’s the limit when it comes to ways to include your mom in your wedding day. What matters most, though, is taking the time to express your love and thanks for her.Â
