Self care is so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel. So heading into the New Year I would like to share a few of my self care tips.
Practice daily affirmations. Positive self-affirmations can boost confidence, proficiency and potential. Be intentional and proactive about these positive thoughts.
Get to know you, again. Getting in tune with yourself, and your spiritual well-being, is just as important as your physical, mental and emotional health. Be intentional, and take time daily to reflect, meditate, and pray. Knowing who you are at the core gives you a deeper sense of purpose, and when you know exactly who you are, you’ll treat yourself with more compassion, and you’ll be more positive and productive.
Separate from your unhealthy internet addiction. Assess how much time you spend on social media, chances are, the amount of time is significant. Social media can lead to feelings of jealousy, loneliness and sometimes feelings of inadequacy. Unplugging will help to create a space of tranquility, creativity, and remind you of who you were before social media “mattered.”
Create boundaries. It’s okay to say no to the things and people that drain you, and you don’t have to explain yourself in doing so.
Acknowledge that you are running a marathon, not a race. This is about you! You may have gotten a late start, you might look different, your journey may have taken a different path, it might be taking you a little longer, but realize, that does not mean that you are failing, or have failed.
